The best Police ~

Posted by Wendy

About to go to sleep and I see a flashlight shining in the window…. look out see someone walking up the street looking at everyones garage areas……. We have had a string of burglaries…so I tell Mike to call the Police.   We see the guy walk behind a neighbors house while we are on the phone…..Police pull up the guy walks out…..Can you feel the excitement……….. Well turns out I just called the Police on my neighbor looking for his dog.  So anticlimactic….so embarrassing….I sent Mike out there to apologize for me and explain.

Luckily we have good neighbors and wonderful Police…. I think I owe each of them a batch of cookies~

Continuing Goal of Simplifying life:

Posted by Wendy

1.LEAD: I can do this, its art of delegating. 2.FOLLOW:the leaders need worker bees .I can do this too, tell me what needs to be done, when & rest assurd it will be done. 3.GET OUT OF THE WAY some days are sweatpants & bad hair days & there is always someone younger, w/more energy, a nicer wardrobe & great hair to do the job, I’ll only slow down the process. I will relax, grab my diet coke, sit back & watch or take a nap, frankly I deserve it!

First full day of school…..no work for me…..

Posted by Wendy

Kids off to school, Check

I was reading through some of my old posts and I came across my “Simplify my life” post. Hows that been working for me….you might ask?

Harder than I thought. But I think I am still on track.

1. We now have a 2 car garage that we can actually park 2 cars in….. only took us 3 years.
2. While I still dont have a handel on the STUFF it is much easier for me to say “Do we really need this?” and if not throw it away.
3. Saying NO. I think the Girl Scouts have helped me in this respect. I have a focus for my need to volunteer. Not to say that I cant lend a hand to my friends from school for bake sales, ect but I just wont be running them. I owe Joan , Becky, Michele, and Yeta for the whole quarentine from Mexico in the spring!
4. Baby steps……I really feel good about the small steps that I am taking in this.May take another year to get me where I want to go but I am on my way.

First Day of School!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Wendy

Wow….Where did the summer go? I have had so many of my friends ask the same thing. We had such a mild summer that it felt like no summer at all. ( I am slightly afraid of what the winter will bring?)

Now let the season of wacky schedules begin!

Time to start thinking about the birthday parties….. The kids remind me often that we told them friends parties are every other year and we did a family vacation last year so this year is their parties with friends.

So I was looking through pictures of their last party

This year, Cameron wants a Jungle theme~  Grant wants to go to Chuck E Cheese….. I think I can talk him into enchanted castle which is probably more age appropriate….stay tuned for details… :)

The Swan and the Donkey!!!

Posted by Wendy

Now I am sure there is a fable in here some where , just cant think of one right now.  The kids had a carnival of animals at school and were able to pick their animals…..Cammie chose a Swan….She wanted to dance as gracefully as she could…..Grant chose a Donkey…so he can point his butt in the air and kick his feet!?!?!

For Cammies outfit we had most everything on hand White boots, pants, furry sweater, and a tutu.  All we need was a boa, felt plastic mask and googlie eyes…. oh yeah and one of Michael’s socks…. I bet he is wondering where it is….well little does he know that it has been reborn into a swans head!

Grant’s was fun, Had the brown pants, brown furry sweater, masking tape and a pizza box… just needed spray paint.  Yes I did say Pizza box.  Grant loved that we made the headpiece from our Fridays nights dinner package.  He could smell pizza whenever he wore it!  A few cuts and bends in the right directions kept together by masking tape created a fabulous donkey head! He loved it!  Michael took video and I am going to try to upload it
